New Calgary Schools

Calgary has been experiencing substantial growth over the past five years, and as a result, more and more families have chosen to move to suburban communities causing the demand for schools to increase. In response to the growing need for more schools throughout the province, the Alberta Government has dedicated multiple new schools to be constructed in Calgary. Below is a list of the schools being built, the communities they are in, and the projected opening dates.

How many new schools are being constructed in Calgary?
There are 30 new schools scheduled to open in Calgary in the next three years.

Will my child get to attend the new school?
Due to an increase in the school aged population, in the communities new schools are being constructed, the Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School District are not able to guarantee all students living within those communities will be able to attend a new school. Some communities will have multiple designated schools and parents should call their preferred designated school to inquire if space is available.
